Council Meeting
January 29, 2007

The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. Present were Mayor Hore and Councillors Crack, Hope and Stevens. Councillor Sullivan was absent with notice.

Council considered the information for the application to the Rural Infrastructure Investment Initiative. This program is for municipalities with a population under 10,000 for infrastructure projects in one of five categories. The one major infrastructure project that had been identified in the recent Long Term Plan was the addition to The Waterfront Centre. Council decided to apply for this project. Funding announcements will be made in March. The grant does not have a stated maximum and does not require matching funding from the municipalities.

Resolved to give first, second and third readings to By-law #893 being a by-law to authorize the submission of an application to the Ontario Infrastructure Projects Corporation for funding from the Rural Infrastructure Investment Initiative.

Council had to go into closed meeting to discuss a personnel issue.

There was a brief discussion on the process to hire a new marina manager. The Clerk will prepare information for the next meeting.

Resolved to give first, second and third readings to By-law #894 being a by-law to confirm the proceedings of the Council meeting held January 29th, 2007 and confirm the taking of any action authorized therein and thereby.
