CanAm Regatta Cancelled

After weeks of deliberation and concerns, the North Channel Yacht Club of Desbarats has decided to cancel the CanAm CL16 Regatta.

Since the beginning we have had dwindling entries and funding has become increasingly more difficult. To date we have only five entries and we are month away. The committee thought it fiscally responsible to cancel the event at this time. It is doubtful if this event will continue in the future. It is very disappointing for the organizing committee and the Village of Hilton Beach.

The committee thanks the local media for their wonderful support and coverage of this event over the past three years. Thanks also to the Village of Hilton Beach, the Hilton Beach Marina and its staff who played a large part in helping to make this event happen.
