Feb. 21st Concert in Hilton Beach

In order to offer a concert in the winter and to raise funds for the Concert Series, the Board is holding a concert on February 21st at 8:00 pm at the Hilton Hall.

Blarney will play the opening set and Breathe Owl Breathe will play after an intermission.


Blarney is a Sault Ste. Marie folk group has been performing Celtic, Canadian and American folk music for over thirty years. The group consists of Rick Deevey, guitar, mandolin and vocals; Daryl Hopf, guitar and vocals; Fred Kent, fiddle and vocals; Jim Hopper, guitar, mandolin, mandola and vocals; and Bill O'Donnell, bass, harmonica and vocals. Their shows include foot tapping instrumentals, humorous stories, and traditional and new ditties. Every one of their songs tells a true story - and that's Blarney.


Breathe Owl Breathe is a unique blend of music and performance art... fresh
new folk music with a little comedy, a little classical and a little whimsy thrown in for good measure. On the band's two latest CDs, "Canadian Shield" and "Ghost Glacier", Micah Middaugh, Andrea Moreno-Beals and Trevor Hobbs create a rich, expansive tapestry of northern life. Micah's vivid prose, Andrea's sweeping strings and Trevor's stylish drums, exotic percussion and keyboards, take the audience on a magical ride through the great northern wilderness and beyond. Breathe Owl Breathe's music is not just original; it's inspiring, heartfelt, full of wonder and full of surprises.

This will be a fun filled evening of great music. Tickets are $20 for General Admission and $10 for Seniors and Students.

Tickets are available at The Rad Zone in Wellington Square Mall in Sault Ste. Marie (945-0911), the Village Office in Hilton Beach (246-0055) and from David Nelson by calling 246-2757. Although tickets should be available at the door, you are encouraged to purchase them in advance to avoid disappointment.
