What is Boom?
The BOOM mobiles are a group of four traveling sailing schools that travel to different communities around Ontario and teach sailing. Ontario Sailing runs this mobile sailing school, and the instructors are certified by the Canadian Yachting Association (CYA). The BOOM program first began almost 30 years ago, and in that time it has introduced over 27,000 people, primarily youth, to sailing.

About the Program
The sailing school runs from 9am - 4pm, Monday to Friday (except holidays). Some sites may offer before and after sailing school care, ask your host contact to see if it is available. BOOM programs give participants lots of time on the water, actually sailing. The instructors use games and great activities to make learning how to sail fun both on and off the water.

BOOM
The BOOM mobile is for children ages 8-14 years old. This learn to sail program yeaches beginner sailors the basics, while still challenging the intermediate sailor. Participants can work on their CYA White Sail Levels I, II, III.

Adult Evening Classes
Who thought sailing was just for kids? The BOOM moviles offer adult sailing lessons in the evenings from 6pm-9pm. The adult classes run for 4 evenings, from Monday to Thursday (except holidays). The BOOM instructors will tailor the lessons to teach you the basics if you are a beginner sailor, or challenge you with intermediate skills if you are are more experienced sailor. The White Sail Level I, II and III courses includes a great deal of time on the water, as well as lessons on land.
