Hilton Beach concert series is back with an exciting July lineup

Hilton Beach – After a five year intermission, the popular Old Town Hall Concert Series on St. Joseph Island is announcing its return with a fantastic lineup for its long anticipated milestone 25th anniversary season.

The concert series runs over three weeks in July, and includes two favourites of the series with Jim Witter and Johannes Linstead, along with the spectacular Celtic-infused roots group, Maggie’s Wake.

Jim Witter kicks off the series on Wednesday, July 16th at 7:00pm with his popular show “Still Rock ‘n Roll”. The multiple award-winning performer stars on piano and lead vocals together with his incredible band for a fun and nostalgic trip back to the 1970s and 80s, featuring the music of Billy Joel and Elton John. Still Rock ‘n Roll pairs these timeless tunes with visuals of news headlines, celebrities, cars and pop culture for a truly immersive experience back in time.

Maggie’s Wake is up next on Wednesday, July 23rd at 7:00pm.  Fresh off their win as the New/Emerging Artist of the Year at the 2025 Canadian Folk Music Awards, Maggie’s Wake has quickly gained a large following, selling out concert halls across North America.  With a fresh, Celtic-flavourited folk roots sound with fiery vocals, rich storytelling and beautiful melodies, Maggie’s Wake has been making big waves with their original Canadian sound.

Closing out the season with some flair, the legendary latin guitarist Johannes Linstead brings his fun and fiery performance to Hilton Beach on Wednesday, July 30th at 7:00pm.  With over half a billion streams on Spotify and too many awards to list, Johannes Linstead has become recognized internationally as one of the best selling guitarists in his genre. Johannes and his band will set the stage on fire as they let loose a fiesta of Afro-Cuban percussion and Spanish guitar magic. The group consists of congas, accordion, bass and Spanish guitars, creating a rare on-stage chemistry that moves audiences to their feet, clapping along with the music and occasionally shouting out “ole!”

Tickets for each concert are $45 each, and a season pass to all three concerts can be had for $125. Seating is first come, first serve. All concerts begin at 7:00pm, with doors opening at 6:30pm.  Refreshments will be available prior to the concert, and during intermission (cash only).

Tickets can be purchased online at oldtownhall.ca, and are available beginning May 26th.

Held at the Hilton Beach Community Hall, on St. Joseph Island just 45 minutes east of Sault Ste. Marie via a toll-free bridge, this acoustically-treated venue has a capacity of just 250, making for an up close and personal concert experience which both our audience and our performers enjoy.
